Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal‟s Myth “Khamba-Thoibee Sheireng” by
Dr. Santoshi Devi |
Lei-Langba (floral oblation to
the forest Gods and Goddesses) is an important episode of the
process of the Umang Lai Haraoba (pleasing of the forest
Gods). According to the Pandit Loishang (Department of Royal
Scholars) of Manipur, there are four major types of Umang Lai
Haraoba, viz, (i) Kanglei Haraoba; (ii) Kakching Haraoba;
(iii) Moirang Haraoba; and (iv) Chakpa Haraoba. The present
study tries to make an eco-criticism analysis of Lei-Langba
in Moirang Haraoba with special reference to Mahakavi Hijam
Anganghal’s Epic “Khamba-Thoibee Sheireng.” In the writing of
Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal in his epic Khamba-Thoibee Sheireng,
there is a unique style of writing of his own, an elegant and
different approach of a distinct identity. His account on
nature, floriculture, varieties of waterfalls and fish at
Loktak Lake, his sense of humour, vocabulary expressions,
appearances of metaphors, similes, imagery, prosody of verse
writing, rhyme and rhythm. etc. in them are simply beautiful
and are of high literature. In fact, his epic has great scope
for ecocriticism analysis especially in Lei Langba episode. |

research article strives, based on primary sources and
secondary data, to examine the evolving security partnership

Women’s Contribution for
Agriculture and Food Safety by Dr.Sana Shaik & Dr. Reshma
Bano |
The aim of this study was to
investigate the relation between the provisions of food for
household members and educational status of women for food
security. In addition to this several varieties of food given
to different population and household labour saving devices
(LSD) were also evaluated. Statistics were collected from 250
randomly selected women in two districts of Ganderbal and
Bandipora of Jammu and Kashmir. The results depicted that the
educational level gained by the respondents has a
relationship with the LSD at significant levels of 0.05.
Moreover, it showed quite high degree of association between
age and educational level. Thus it can be concluded that the
women possessing higher degree of qualification are likely to
provide different varieties of food and thereby increasing
the household food security. |
